Do the right thing

Yesterday was supposed to have been a great day in the life of my oldest son. He is in the process of purchasing his first home. Problem is, the seller wants to manipulate the system in order to save himself some money. The seller is not concerned in the least bit what effect this could have on my son.

I guess what frustrates me the most about this is that after doing everything he was told to do, following all directions, paying all monies appropriately, my son today is still not sure whether he will get to own this house. And here I am in another state not able to do anything to help besides give moral support and advice over the telephone.

I know and believe that God is in control of everything because he owns everything (I Chronicles 29:11-13) and all I can do right now is trust Him and pray that things get worked out, that somehow this seller will do the right thing. If it doesn’t work out, then I have to believe that God knows best and hope that my son can trust God for that as well.

UPDATE 12/1

My son called me last night and said that he finally had the keys in his hand and the house was in his possesion. It seems as though that the seller was unable to do what he wanted to do and had to end up doing it the proper way. Strange how things work out, huh? So it was an almost 3 day extensive education in patience and perserverance. The wisdom and knowledge my son has gained through the experience will last him his lifetime.

New house….. $xxxxxx.xx, New furniture for the new house…… $xxxx.xx, wisdom gained from the process….PRICELESS!
