Family Ties

My oldest son sent an email to me the other day inviting me to join a new site that kept up with family trees. Well, you know me, I just had to get on there and at least check it out.

After a little peeking, I decided that I would at least join. Let me tell you, this thing is very addicting! I have a small, good-natured contest going with my daughter as to who can enter the most names. Admittedly, she is winning right now so I am going to have to break out the big guns, I guess.

I’m hoping to soon add comments and facts about family members along with adding birth, death, and marriage dates to the ones that I can find. It is really interesting to find out things about relatives from the past. Did you know that one of my great grandfathers died after being hit by a train walking home from work? And it occured within 5 miles of where I currently live? Wow!

It is really a great site to graphically keep up with your family and it is free. You can start your own by going to www.geni.com and just follow the directions to start your own.

If you would like to access my family tree and add information or view information, just email me at terryguill@gmail.com and I will send you an invitation. Since June 4, 2007 there have been 647 people entered into the tree!

Well that’s all for now, more to come…
